Based in my hometown (Fontainebleau, France) after 14 years in London (UK) and 2 in Portugal, I am a certified +500-hour Yoga teacher. I first came to yoga through curiosity but with a few doubts, as I had always liked sport and fitness, but I expected to be bored. I was lucky enough to have gone to a Rocket Yoga class. I loved it at once, moving with the breath was a revelation and an amazing experience, which I still enjoy each time I come to my yoga mat, practising this active meditation. In 2012, I decided to go to India to complete a teacher training course in Ashtanga Vinyasa with The Yoga People. As I went more deeply into my practice, experimenting with different kinds of yoga, I found Yin Yoga, which was another revelation for me and the perfect complement to my dynamic practice. I completed a 300-hour Advanced Teacher Training Course in Rocket, Tripischore techniques, Mandala and Yin Yoga with The Yoga People. My interest in sports naturally led me to a qualification in Yoga for Sports with Sarah Ramsden in order to work with athletes. During the last few years, I have been becoming passionate about the art of motion. I qualified as a Budokon© Yoga teacher, and I am now studying Budokon Mobility. I have also been fortunate to be taught by different teachers such as Kino McGregor, David Swenson, Shiva Rae, Stewart Gilchrist, Naomi Absalom, Sri Dharma Mittra, Cameron and Melayne Shayne.
My philosophy is that everybody is capable of practising yoga, but not necessarily in the same way. First of all, everyone has their own expectations. Some people want an energetic style of yoga, like Ashtanga Vinyasa or Rocket, some people want a more relaxing style, like Yin Yoga or Restorative Yoga. Even though there needs to be some balance between these two different styles, I think it is important to adapt yoga to a person’s individual needs, bodies, injuries. All yoga is good for you, it just depends on what you’re looking for.
I teach a physical approach to Yoga, to bring awareness first to the body and the breath, then to the mind and spirit. One of my favourite quotes is “Use the poses (Asanas) to get into your body, not the body to get into the poses.”
